Welcome to the Bedford Dramatic Club, Bedford's most exciting theatre group !

Come to our Play Exposé – 20th April 2012 at the Place Theatre 7.30 pm

Do you have a favourite play? Something you would like to see us perform; something you would like to be in; something you would like to direct; something to challenge your technical creativity?

Come along to our play exposé on 20th April where you can bring your offerings and suggestions to help shape our future season. Select your favourite excerpt for us to read through or just tell us about your suggestions and why your choice inspires you.

This will be a light hearted and informal delve into a smorgasbord of theatrical possibilities. New and potential members welcome - contributions of wine and nibbles gratefully accepted to make this a social and relaxed evening.

Our May production

is Widows, based on Ariel Dorfman's poetic novel. Ariel Dorfman is a Chilean citizen who was forced into exile after the 1973 coup, among his best known works is his play Death and the Maiden.

Widows tells the story of a group of peasant women whose husbands, sons and fathers have disappeared. The women do not know whether they are alive or dead. Then bodies start to appear in the river and the women take a stand against the military. This production is not suitable for children.

We are delighted to announce

that our October 2012 production will be Calendar Girls. This is the stage version of the hugely popular film, recently on national tour.
